Description
The VA Medical Center, Bath, New York (hereafter "The VA" or "VA"), located at 76 Veterans Avenue, Bath NY, 14810, has a requirement to Renovate Building 34. The work includes but is not limited to the following: Provide all labor, materials, supplies, equipment, tools, traffic control and supervision necessary to renovate building 34 to update the finishes, resolve privacy concerns for patients by changing the floor plan as required, and resolving FCA deficiencies. Work shall be performed in accordance with construction drawings and specifications and other standards and regulations as detailed or specified: This shall include but not be limited to the following: -Provide direct accessible access from the exterior. -Construct new restrooms and showers. -Building exterior: provide repairs as required, including wood soffits and re-pointing brick. -Remove and Install attic insulation. -Upgrade fire alarm system. -Upgrade electrical system. -Upgrade TV cabling in the entire building -Upgrade and provide new plumbing including fixtures and components. -Provide foundation drains that drain to sanitary. -Repoint foundation where required. The VA intends to release this as a competitive Invitation for Bids (IFB). The applicable NAICS code for this project is 236220, "COMMERCIAL AND INSTITUTIONAL BUILDING CONSTRUCTION." The estimated construction value of this project falls within the range of $2,000,000 to $5,000,000. The VA is currently surveying the market via a Sources Sought notice to determine the bonding capacity of various socio-economic groups. The response from the sources sought and other market research will determine the set aside category for this acquisition. The set-aside will not be announced before the solicitation is published to FBO. The solicitation is expected to be released during or about October 26, 2012. Unless additional notice is given or this notice is modified, the full IFB will be posted to the Government-wide Point of Entry (www.fbo.gov). This is a presolicitation notice synopsizing an upcoming competitive solicitation to satisfy the requirements of FAR 5.201 and 5.203.
