Description
SUBMISSION ARE DUE NO LATER THAN 10:00 AM EDT on 02 NOVEMBER 2012. DESCRIPTION SPAWARSYSCEN Atlantic is seeking information from industry on approaches, products, and/or standard modular solutions for an Information System (IS) that provides auto-discovery of network infrastructure and stores the information in a central repository. Hardware and software solutions should include Commercial-Off-The-Shelf COTS) and Government-Off-The-Shelf capabilities (GOTS). The desired objective is to incorporate a system into an existing network infrastructure that: (1) Provides auto-discovery of network infrastructure; (2) Provides a robust drawing tool to document non-discoverable devices; (3) Stores the information in a central repository; and (4)Protects the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information and the IS. The CNCMS package should have the ability to rapidly integrate mature advanced technologies in focus areas identified below, and have existing accreditations from the United States Government and the Department of Defense (DoD). SPAWARSYSCEN Atlantic may use this information for future product investments and to support the Department of Navy's investment policy. This notice is for Government, academic and industry stakeholders, science & technology organizations and research activities. Universities, Government Laboratories and Federally Funded Research and Development Centers, with knowledge of relevant or alternative technologies, are encouraged to provide input. We are requesting submission of existing capability statements only. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. Interested parties are welcome to address the complete RFI or a portion thereof. If addressing only a portion of the RFI, ensure that it is clear to the Government which section(s) are being addressed and the section(s) not being addressed. This RFI is issued SOLELY FOR INFORMATION AND PLANNING PURPOSES AND DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. Responses to this RFI are not offers and do not commit the Government to a contract for any supply or service whatsoever. At this time, the Navy is not seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. Respondents are advised that the U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI and that all costs incurred or associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party's expense. Small businesses having the capabilities to perform the tasking below are encouraged to reply to this RFI. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP, if any is issued. It is the responsibility of the potential responders to monitor the FEDBIZOPPS website at http://www.fbo.gov and the SPAWAR e-Commerce Central website at https://e- commerce.sscno.nmci.navy.mil/command/02/acq/navhome.nsf/homepage?readform for additional information pertaining to this requirement. BACKGROUND SPAWARSYSCEN Atlantic has a task to assess potential solutions for the planning, implementation, and integration of network and communications equipment for organizations within the Federal Government. A goal of this task is to identify technology for improving communications and networking capabilities and provide recommendations of new technologies to meet that goal. The information obtained in response to this RFI will be of use to the Government in shaping potential future solicitations. Responders to this RFI may be considered for an invitation to present their capabilities to SPAWARSYSCEN Atlantic. If invited, the Government shall not be responsible for any costs incurred to prepare and present to SPAWARSYSCEN Atlantic on capabilities in one or more of the following focus areas.
