Description
THIS NOTICE CONSITITUES AMENDMENT NO. (1) TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR PROCUREMENT OF A MICROBIAL MONITORING SYSTEM (MMS). Companies shalll acknoledge all amendment (s) in their quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to answer questions generated by vendors in response to this RFQ. QUESTION 1. Is the solicitation just for a Microbial Monitoring System, not consumables? If consumables are included, can the language be changed to FOB Origin for consumables? ANSWER Yes language can be changed to FOB Origin for consumables with Technical Approval. QUESTION 2. Requirements a and h: Would it be possible to remove this specification from the RFQ? ANSWER It was determined that requirements a and h are valid. QUESTION 3. Requirement e: Can it be removed? ANSWER Based on the questions the specification can be updated as noted. From: 'e. Shall have ability to make customized target detection assays.' To: e. The COTS MMS shall accommodate the following target detection assays: 1) Escherichia coli 2) Enterobacter spp. 3) Pseudomonas aeruginosa 4)Salmonella spp. f. Also the COTS MMS shall have the flexibility to accommodate future targets as they are identified and available. QUESTION 4. Requirement i: Can this requirement be deleted? ANSWER The original 'i. Instrument platform shall consist of a portable thermal cycler with built-in, on-board signal detection, analysis, and identification software.' Can be deleted and the need is covered adequately by requirement b. The due date for proposals/quotes are extended untill October 16, 2012. Documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application. The Internet site, or URL, for the NASA/MSFC Business Opportunities home page is http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=D&pin=62 Offerors are responsible for monitoring this site for the release of the solicitation and any amendments. Potential offerors are responsible for downloading their own copy of the solicitation and amendments (if any).
