- 1.INTRODUCTION 1.1The supported activity for this procurement action is USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT (CVN 71), which requires materials to complete the inside of the ship ™s museum. This statement of work covers particular items to be included in the museum for educational and historical purposes. 2.BACKGROUND 2.1USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT (CVN 71) is currently being outfitted at the completion of the Refueling Complex Overhaul (RCOH) performed at Huntington Ingles Inc. shipyard Newport News (hereafter HII). A major portion of this outfitting effort includes refurbishment of the museum spaces. The overall effort described in this Statement of Work (SOW), is to procure, and install material for the museum. The contractor must be capable of promptly executing this task to meet mandatory production schedules and to support Navy operational readiness requirements in fighting the Global War on Terrorism. 3.DESCRIPTION/SCOPE/OBJECTIVE: 3.1The contractor shall provide Program Management and material procurement, receipt and damage inspection, kitting, and transportation, and final installation services on board the USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT (CVN 71). The contractor must have extensive, recent experience, within the past five years, outfitting a U. S. Navy Aircraft Carrier as described in this SOW. Status reports will be prepared monthly describing all material procurement, receipt, delivery, and installation status.
