- ***THIS IS A SYNOPSIS NOT A SOLICITATION*** The Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Midstates Procurement Branch intends to issue a Request for Proposal on or about February 20, 2013, for Armed Security Guard Services in the Austin, TX; Brookhaven, NY; and National Capital, ( includes New Carrollton, MD and Washington, DC areas) IRS Campus locations. The solicitation will not be available until that time. The contractor will provide all management, supervision, manpower, vehicle, equipment, supplies, and will plan, schedule, and coordinate to ensure effective performance of armed security guard services (unless otherwise provided by the Government). The contractor will be required to perform services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year, including holidays (or unless otherwise indicated in the Security Guard Post Orders). The contractor must provide, at a minimum, a qualified armed security guard force that has successfully completed federal, state, county, and/or military law enforcement requirements; have a minimum of three years of armed security guard experience within the past five years; have a background investigation check; and meet physical fitness requirements. The Government intends to award one contract. The resulting contract will be Fixed Price, Labor Hour contract with a Base Period and two 12 month options. All options will be evaluated for award purposes. To be considered for award, the contractor will be required to submit a proposal for all sites previously referenced. It is anticipated that proposals will be due on or about April 03, 2013. Hard copies of the solicitation document will not be available. The web site will provide downloading instructions. All future information about this acquisition, including solicitation amendments, will be distributed solely through the web site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the web site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. This procurement will be set-aside for small businesses under the 8(a) Program. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 561612. All responsible sources may submit a proposal that will be considered by the agency. Services are anticipated to commence on or about October 01, 2013.
