- Description
- The U.S. Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center, WMEC Product Line, will be issuing a solicitation for BBG, Inc. Synchro Signal Conversion Systems. This notice is issued pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.201. It is anticipated that a sole source, requirements type contract containing one (1) base year and four (4) one-year options will be awarded to BBG, Inc. using FAR Part 12 Commercial Supplies/Services and FAR Part 15 Contracting by Negotiation, as a result of the solicitation. It is the Government's intent to negotiate solely with BBG, Inc. in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1. All systems and parts are required to be manufactured in accordance with BBG's design, specifications, standards, and material requirements for the 270' WMEC's. The technical data, ie designs, drawings, special tooling/equipment, and salient characteristics, are propriety and are not available for release to the public. The non-availability of technical data precludes the Coast Guard from obtaining competition, and BBG is currently the only source that is capable of providing the items in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) requirements. Proposals are not being requested at this time. The solicitation will be available on FedBizOpps on or about 10/22/2012. This date is estimated at best, and it is the Contractor's responsibility to monitor FedBizopps on a regular basis for release of the solicitation and any amendments.
