 - Description
 - The contractor work involves evaluation of in-mold coating technologies to replace both coats of primer and one coat of topcoat. The in-mold coating will be applied to the tooling surface prior to the composite lay-up process and then co-cured with the composite. The cured in-mold coating will function as a "ready-to-go" topcoat, providing all of the protective properties required for topcoat systems per MIL-PRF-85285 Type l (resistance to fluids, weather, humidity, low-temperature,etc.) During final paint, the in-mold coating undgoes surface activation and the remaining topcoat layers are applied.
