Description
WWSS J&A The WWSS IDIQ contracts are jointly managed by Project Manager, Defense Communications and Army Transmission Systems and Project Manager, Warfighter Information Network-Tactical programs. The WWSS IDIQ contracts provide for the acquisition of multiple types of commercial single and multi-band satellite earth terminals to joint service Warfighters in a wide variety of system configurations, including the Combat Service Support Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) Satellite Terminal (Terminal Type 1), the Fixed Station Satellite Terminal (Terminal Type 2), Flyaway VSAT Satellite Terminal (Terminal Type 3), the Military Certified Satellite Terminal (Terminal Type 4), the Prime Mover/Trailer Mounted Satellite Terminal (Terminal Type 5), and the Deployable Satellite Earth Terminal (Terminal Type 6). These systems include equipment used by the Department of Defense (DoD) and Government users in the transmission of data, video, and telephone/voice communications, whether located in the Continental United States or Outside the Continental United States. The proposed action will also provide for logistics support services and spare parts for the above terminals. The proposed action will enable DOs to be issued through 31 March 2013. The total estimated value of the DOs to be awarded under the WWSS contracts during this extended ordering period is $84.1M. The basis of the estimate is approximately $50M of projected requirements from customers for efforts to be awarded after July2012. In addition, the remaining approximate value of $34.1M is based on needs that we expect to materialize based upon historical efforts on this contract and the recognition of our plan to transition efforts to GTACS as soon as possible after award of those contracts.
