Description
The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to procure Machinery Control Systems on a firm fixed basis as part of the DDG-51 Ship Class Modernization Program and the DDG-51 New Construction Shipbuilding Program. A MCS shipset of equipment shall consist of Universal Control Consoles (UCCs) and Data Interface Unit (DIU) cabinets. The system shall be capable of being integrated onboard in-service DDG-51 class ships and also on ships being constructed in the shipyard. The MCS system shall be designed to provide the computing platform that will support the operation of Government Furnished computer programs. The MCS equipment and computer programs, as a complete system, will monitor and control the ship ™s propulsion, power, and auxiliary systems. This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) site at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerc Online (NECO) site at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Offerors may utilize either site to access information posted by the Naval Sea Systems Command. Some technical specifications to this solicitation include Distribution Statement D marking meaning access is restricted to DoD and DoD contractors only. These documents will be accessible through a TDP link in the solicitation. In order to control access to these documents, FBO registration will be required by interested parties. This procurement is planned to include a basic requirement to show that the proposed system will meet the qualification requirements, data, and engineering services with production options for up to 45 systems plus additional land based site equipment suites during a five year planned contracting period. No industry day is planned for this procurement. There are no plans to issue a draft solicitation. All inquiries should be emailed to Tara Borntreger at tara.borntreger@navy.mil.
