- This is a SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE for market research purposes. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS/QUOTES. The National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) seeks information from commercial vendors that are capable of providing an AP&E pulse slicer upgrade to an existing four-wave mixing Laser System and a Chameleon OPO VIS and MAX-IR upgrade to augment NIST's existing Chameleon Ti:S Laser System. The laser light source will be used in the development of high sensitivity, super resolution FWM microscopy system; to increase the stability and spectral coverage of this system, NIST requires a direct upgrade for the existing laser system. The pulse slicer will upgrade to an existing four-wave mixing Laser System. This pulse slicer is an upgrade to the laser source used in the development of a high sensitivity, super resolution four-wave mixing microscope. To increase the spectral/temporal selectivity/coverage of the laser system, NIST requires a 100% compatible upgrade for the existing system in terms of optical coupling, spectral coverage, computer control, and automatic tracking. How to respond to this notice: NIST is seeking responses from all responsible sources, especially small businesses, and small businesses in the socio-economic categories. Small businesses are defined under the associated NAICS code for this effort, 334516, Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing, as those domestic sources having 500 employees or less. Responsible sources that manufacture or sell such Super Resolution FWM Laser System and Pulse Slicer are requested to email a detailed report describing their abilities to marie.gilliam@nist.gov no later than the response date for this sources sought notice. The report should include detailed specifications and other information relevant to your product(s) or capabilities. After results of this market research are obtained NIST may conduct a competitive procurement and subsequently award a contract action for these items. If at least two qualified small businesses are identified during this market research stage, then any competitive procurement that results would be conducted as a small business set-aside. Please include your company's size classification and socio-economic status in any response to this notice. Also, the following information is requested to be provided as part of the response to this sources sought notice: 1. Name of your company which is experienced in providing the described products, the address, and a point of contact for the company (name, phone number, fax number and email address). 2. Indication of whether your products are currently on one or more GSA Federal Supply Schedule contracts and, if so, the GSA FSS contract number(s). 3. Any past performance information that you consider relevant to this requirement. 4. Any other relevant information that is not listed above which the Government should consider in developing its minimum specifications and finalizing its market research.
