- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to award a sole souce contract to the Bell-Boeing Joint Project Office (JPO) for the procurment of eight (10) Kits and (18) installations associated with the Block B retrofit of MV-22 Block A aircraft. The Kits shall be procured in accordance with the retrofit configuration as designed and developed under a previously executed sole source contract to Bell-Boeing JPO. The last kit will be delivered no later than June 2014. The Retrofit Kits will include improved Effectiveness and Suitability changes as required to return aircraft to a flyable configuration. This effort shall be procured in accordancewith FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Bell-Boeing JPO is the original aircraft manufacturer, sole source producer of production V-22 aircraft, and developer and designer of the Block A to B effort. Additionally Bell-Boeing JPO is the only source possessing sufficient requisite system knowledge, engineering expertise, aircraft integration information, and technical data needed build these kits.
