- BAILEY FOREST HEALTH STEWARDSHIP PROJECT Description of Work - This solicitation and any resultant contract is a stewardship project in accordance with Section 323 of Public Law 108-7 (16 U.S.C. 2104 Note, as revised February 28, 2003 to reflect sec. 323 of J.J. Res. 2 as enrolled), the Consolidated Appropriations Resolution, 2003, amending Public Law 105-277, sec. 347. This is an acquisition that has been tailored to fit the Government's method of trading goods for services. An estimated 1095 CCF of sawtimber is marked or otherwise designated for cutting on 91 acres. There are 2 mandatory and 2 optional stewardship projects. Mandatory Stewardship projects are mechanical biomass thinning and removal on 91 acres, and road re-construction/maintenance on approximately 20 miles of Forest System Roads. The Optional Stewardship Projects are, mechanical thin and remove biomass in plantations on approximately 302 acres, hand thin small trees and brush and remove biomass within meadow/oak woodland, and hand pile and remove on approximately 5.7 acres. Estimated biomass removal for project area is 1,316 CCF. Project Location - The majority of the project area (2,680 acres) is situated near Bailey Ridge on the Calaveras Ranger District in Township 6N, Range 15E, Township 6N, R16E, and Township 7N, R16E. Mount Diablo Base and Meridian (MDB&M). Work unit boundaries are delineated on the ground with orange paint and cut trees are marked with blue paint Period of Performance is from date of contract award until December 31, 2015
