Description
A Site Visit will be conducted Tuesday, June 26 at 10:00 am. Due to the nature of the project involving a service-disabled veteran, the address will not be advertised publicly. Please contact the Contracting Officer, Bonnie.Robinson@va.gov, prior to June 26th, if you plan on attending the site visit. You will be given the location and electronic copy of the materials at that time. Scope of Work for VBA Pittsburg This project is located in Belle Vernon, Pa. and is being advertised as design/build. The government has a requirement to construct a 480 square foot two story addition to the home. The construction of this addition will enlarge the current Master Bedroom and include a new ADA compliant bathroom. The existing bathroom within the master bedroom shall be demolished entirely. The government has developed Design Intent Drawings and specifications that are currently about 50% complete. These drawings and specifications do not include all work associated with this project. The work for this project includes but is not limited to demolition, concrete, masonry, re-pointing of masonry chimney, wood framing, sheetrock, ceramic tile, plumbing, mechanical and electrical. The selected contractor will be responsible for completing the site investigation with the assistance of the government representative and completing the drawings to be used to construct this project. The project will also include the demolition of an existing wood deck and stairs and the installation of a new 660 square foot deck using pressure treated lumber with a 36"W x 155'L pressure treated wood ramp that wraps around the house from back to front. The deck will also include a set of stairs leading down to the pool deck and be covered by a roof as shown in the Design Intent Drawings. This project also includes a Lev II elevator that will be provided and installed within this addition by others but it will be the responsibility of the contractor selected for this project to provide the framing for the elevator shaft. Cut sheets will be provided. The selected contractor must also provide electrical service for the elevator from the electrical panel to the elevator control room. Contractor to provide design/build services for the home HVAC to keep humidity levels at a constant level so that there will be no extreme shrinkage or swelling of elevator shaft walls that would cause the elevator to bind and stop during use.
