- HORNING SEED ORCHARD COLLECTION IDIQ The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is soliciting services to harvest conifer cones in late summer from 9 to 32 year-old orchard-grown Douglas-fir trees for a one (1) year firm fixed price Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) with an option to extend for four (4) additional years. Seed from these collections will be used for reforestation work and restoration projects. The NAICS Code for this type of work is 115310, Support Activities for Forestry. Cone harvesting will be at the BLM Tyrrell Seed Orchard near Lorane, Oregon. Cones must be collected when seed is mature, but prior to the opening of cones and shedding of seed. The Government will monitor seed maturity and cone ripeness and issue a start work order when both are acceptable. Harvesting of Douglas-fir shall usually begin in August. Harvesting of other conifer species range between August and October. The estimated start work date is August 13, 2012. This solicitation will be posted electronically at www.FedConnect.net under solicitation number L12PS00643. THIS SOLICITATION WILL BE ISSUED BY June 28, 2012 as a TOTAL SMALL BUSINESS SET ASIDE. All responsible sources may submit an offer which will be considered.
