The Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Newport, RI intends to award a Firm Fixed Price type contract to General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) to build four High Lift Auxiliary Wire (HLAW) Systems and groom two BRR-6 Buoys for at-sea testing and provide assistance to the government in developing a production drawing package for the HLAW System. The Contractor shall also utilize the cable technology developed under the HLAW program for OE-315 Buoyant Cable Antenna (BCA) Modifications. NAICS CODE is 334511. Period of Performance is approximately six months. Over the last two years, General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) has provided technical assistance in developing the prototype HLAW and assisting with First Article Testing. GDIT is currently the only contractor with the technical expertise to complete the build of four HLAW Systems to support the current HLAW sea testing schedule. Estimated RFP release date is May 19, 2012. Our department no longer issues solicitations or amendments in paper form. This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov/ and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. For information on this acquisition contact Michael Broomfield at 401-832-8469.
