- This urgent and compelling procurement action in accordance with IAW FAR 6.302-1 is for Quality of product required for on-going patient care testing. The proposed vendor, Roche Diagnostics of Indianapolis, IN, is the only manufacturer of this COBAS and Amplicor system which are used for numerous types of hepatitis testing. This is also proprietary in that this patient care testing must take place using the Roche platform, the system which is set up in this laboratory. While other platforms are available, they would have to be validated which takes months to perform. Also, physicans throughout the CC require consistency in the testing so that the hepatitis diagnosis are accurate and physicians can manage and report accordingly on the disease states of patients in the NIH Clinical Center. Equipment rental, maintenance service, reagents, consumables for COBAS Ampliprep assays and COBAS Amplicor testing.
