Description
Sandia National Laboratories, a government-owned/contractor-operated entity, is seeking one or more business partners including but not limited to the application, development, and licensing of SpinDx TM. Sandia is seeking a company or companies to cooperatively develop and commercially license the technology described in this posting. Commercial licensees will have the opportunity to obtain a license to the intellectual properties for reasonable compensation. It is expected that the company/companies that work with Sandia to develop the SpinDx TM technology will incorporate it into a commercial product. Description of SpinDx TM : Sandia researchers have developed an innovative technique for conducting simultaneous multiplexed immunoassays and white blood cell counts from a single finger prick of whole blood with < 15 minute total sample-to-answer time. The technique is based on sedimentation principles within a disposable microfluidic disk, in which all sample processing and detection is automated by centrifugal force. SpinDx TM is highly flexible enabling customized assay development and consolidated disk prototyping with rapid turnaround time. Differentiating Advantages of SpinDx TM are: • Multiplexed: Up to 64 parallel assays from a single sample • Speed: <15 min sample-to answer • Minimally-invasive: <20μL sample input (i.e., finger puncture whole blood sample) • Disposable: Single-use disks pre-loaded with all reagents for off-the-shelf processing • Simple/robust: Based on well-established principles requiring unsophisticated instrumentation Potential partners must provide Sandia information describing their ability to research, design, develop, distribute, and market the SpinDx TM technology. To express interest in this opportunity, please respond by mail to Jill Micheau at Sandia National Laboratories, MS 9004, 7011 East Avenue, Livermore, CA 94550, email jmmiche@sandia.gov, phone: 925.294.3672. Please indicate the date and title of the FBO notice. Please indicate the date and title of the FBO notice. Include company and contact information as well as a description of how your company meets Sandia's criteria and could best contribute to the formation of a CRADA or license and subsequent commercialization of this technology. Sandia National Laboratories is a multi-program laboratory managed and operated by Sandia Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lockheed Martin Corporation, for the U.S. Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration under contract DE-AC04-94AL85000.
