- Bay Pines VA Healthcare System STAT Blood Courier Transportation Service The Department of Veterans Affairs, Bay Pines VA Health Care System, intends to solicit a proposal for qualified, experienced and interested contractors for 24 hours a day, 7 days per week, and 365 days per year Blood STAT Courier Service. The service must include emergency local pickup and delivery of items such as, but not limited to, reagents, blood products, and STAT (emergent) testing that is not performed at the medical center. Only responses from eligible Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) will be considered. The applicable North American Industry Classification (NAICS) code for this procurement is 492110 Couriers and Express Delivery Services. Responses to this notice will not be considered as proposals, nor will any award be incurred by interested parties in responding to this pre-solicitation notice. The VA anticipates issuing a solicitation for this requirement on or about May 4, 2012, with a closing date for proposals on or about date May 17, 2012. The solicitation will be available for download from http://www.fbo.gov. Interested contractors will be responsible for downloading copies of solicitation (and any subsequent amendments) from that website, and no hard copies will be made available. The solicitation will provide full information to contractors about the proposal submission process. Prospective offerors are encouraged to register their interest in the solicitation on the FBO website so that they are notified of the issuance of the solicitation and any amendments.
