- The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), National Veterinary Services Laboratory Located in Ames, IA intends to issue a sole source Blanket Purchase Agreement award to Gen-Probe located in San Diego, CA for GenProbe AccuProbe Brand Culture Identification Test Kits under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1). The kits are used in nucleic acid amplification tests, and the kits are critical components of the specific testing methods used in the diagnosis or confirmation of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Mycobacterium bovis, and other atypical Mycobacteria. The Standard Operating Procedures used in ISO 17025-certified testing conducted at the NVSL require the use of the GenProbe test kits and reagents. No other brand equipment is available to meet the NVSL testing requirement. A 5-year Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) will be awarded to establish firm-fixed pricing for the GenProbe AccuProbe Brand Culture Identification Test Kits. The anticipated BPA value over 5 years is not-to-exceed $125,000.00. This notice is for informational purposes only. No formal solicitation will be issued.
