- Description
- The project consists of furnishing all plant, labor, materials, and equipment for performing various repairs to stone navigation structures to include all types of stone dikes, revetment (ACM and stone only), chevrons, bendway weirs, hardpoints and other river training structures. Work may also include the construction of hardpoints, and the placement of riprap upper bank paving at various locations on the Ohio River (Ohio River Mile 972 near Mound City, Illinois) and Mississippi River between River Miles 954.0 AHP (confluence of Ohio and Mississippi Rivers) to 599.0 AHP (mouth of the White River, Arkansas). Additional work may include bank grading and dressing, excavation, crushed stone blanket, riprap paving, placing of stone fill in specified areas such as dike fields, revetments, and other locations along top bank, removal and redistribution of stone from dikes and other areas, breaking out pavement, placing and painting range markers, and range clearing. The work consists of placing approximately 1,250,000 tons of stone. This project is advertised as an 8(a) Competitive construction requirement using sealed bid procedures and geographical restrictions to 8(a) firms located in the states that comprise SBA Regions 4, 5, 6 and 7 which have the assigned NAICS code (237990) among those approved for 8(a) participation. All other firms are deemed ineligible to submit offers. For the purpose of this procurement to qualify as a small business concern, in addition to being independently owned and operated and not dominate in the field of operation in which it is bidding on Government contracts, the concern must have had average annual sales receipts for the preceding three fiscal years not exceeding $33.5 million. The Indefinite Delivery-Indefinite Quantity contract is for River Repairs and Upper Bank Paving in Ohio and Mississippi Rivers between Mound City, Illinois (Ohio River Mile 972) and Mouth of White River, Arkansas (Mississippi River Mile 599 AHP). The estimated value of work is not to exceed(NTE) $25,000,000.00. Solicitation will issue on/about 21 May 2012 and bid opening date will be on/about 21 June 2012.
