- Description
- The NATIONAL INSTITUTES OF HEALTH (NIH), National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), Office of Acquisitions (OA), on behalf of the NHLBI Division of Intramural Research, intends to negotiate on a sole source basis and award a contract for scientific equipment maintenance services on Magnetic Resonance Imaging equipment to Siemens Medical Solutions, USA, Inc., 51 Valley Stream Parkway, Malvern, PA 19355 under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. The period of performance will be May 16, 2012 through September 30, 2012. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code applicable to this requirement is 811219 - Other Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance with a small business size standard of $19.0M. This solicitation and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-58. The basis for sole source determination is based upon the fact that Siemens Medical Solutions, USA, Inc., is the sole provider of the maintenance service for their proprietary equipment. This Notice of Intent expires 10 days from its posting. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement, in writing, no later than the response date. Written responses to this notice shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill the requirement. Written responses shall reference this Notice of Intent No. NHLBI-CSB-(HL)-2012-125-RMD and may be submitted in writing to the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, 6701 Rockledge Drive, RKL 2, Room 6144, Bethesda, Maryland 20817, Attention: Renee Dougherty. Emails will also be accepted at Dougherr@nih.gov. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
