- Please note this is only a Sources Sought posting and not a Solicitation. Any quotes and or proposals submitted as a result of this posting shall be disqualified and disposed of. Any subcontractor interested in quoting this job, should it result in an RFP, must provide company and contact information to the Interested Vendors list prior to expiration of this posting. Any interested party must have the appropriate State of California Contractors License. GENERAL SCOPE This project is for the construction services for the removal and replacement of underground process piping serving SLAC's Cooling Tower 1701 in the beam switchyard area. This piping replacement will involve several mechanical utility systems to facilitate future points of connection for the permanent 1701 Cooling Tower replacement which is to take place in FY13 and FY14. This work will involve excavation and piping demolition north of Cooling Tower 1701, as well as installation of temporary cooling tower water piping to minimize downtime of the 1701 Cooling Tower system. The new construction includes, but is not limited to: 1) Remove and dispose asphalt and excavate work area 2) Remove and dispose underground Transite cooling tower water piping 3) Install new underground PVC cooling tower water piping 4) Add temporary cooling tower water supply and return piping 5) Install fittings and valves 6) Backfill and pave excavated work area The schedule for this project shall be July 2, 2012 through October 23, 2012. No drawings or specifications are included in this posting and will only be available in the proposed RFP.
