Description
Contractor shall provide all labor, tools, equipment, materials, services, and all accessory items required for the design, specification, and installation of walk in coolers and other associated tasks at Building 1 VA Connecticut Healthcare System (VACHS) - West Haven Campus. Work includes three phases as follows: Phase I: The contractor shall develop specific recommendations and design for the new work. All design work shall fully comply with the requirements of International Building Code (IBC), National Standard Plumbing Code (NSPC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes, all Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements and recommendations, all Joint Commission (JCAHO) requirements and recommendations and all current Veterans Affairs (VA) directives, requirements and guidance. Phase II: All demolition, material removal, utility removal and equipment removal shall conform to the requirements of the approved construction documents. All hazardous or asbestos waste shall be removed, tested and characterized, containerized, labeled and made ready for transportation in accordance with Federal Department of Transportation regulations by the Vendor but shall be delivered to the VAMC on the Medical Center site for disposal by the VAMC. Phase III: All construction work shall conform to the requirements of the approved construction documents. Samples and catalog cut sheets shall be provided for all materials, equipment and colors; no deviation from approved submittals will be permitted. All work is subject to inspection and acceptance by the VAMC. Any non-conforming work is subject to rejection by the VAMC and any rejected or otherwise non-conforming work shall be removed and replaced with conforming work by the Vendor at no additional cost to the Government. The construction cost range for this project is between $250,000 and $500,000. The applicable NAICS code is 236220 and the size standard is $33.5 million. Award will be based on the best value to the Government. Evaluation factors will include price related factors as well as technical factor of management approach and past performance. The solicitation package will be available issued on May 07, 2012. The date for receipt of offers is scheduled for June 07, 2012 at 12:00. All relevant solicitation documents, including specifications and drawings, may be accessed for download on the date of issue at the following website: http://www.fbo.gov. Any amendments to the solicitation will be posted solely to this web site. It is the responsibility of the offeror to verify the number of amendments issued. Bidders list are no longer available from the Contracting office. A bidders list is only available by registering electronically for this solicitation. This solicitation will be set aside strictly for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses. All SDVOSBs must be certified in Vet Biz as an SDVOSB. All offerors must ensure registration in CCR is current and accurate.
