- Description
- Bridge Approach Paving, Sacramento and Smokey Bear Ranger Districts, NM : The purpose of this contract is to pave bridge approaches on the Sacramento and Smokey Bear Ranger District, in accordance with the drawings, specifications and subject to the terms and conditions of the contract. Description of Work A. The principle features of work to be performed under these specifications include but are not limited to the following: 1. Excavation of material along the Traveled Way and Shoulders along each side of the bridge for a distance of 100 feet. 2. Use the excavated material to create a minimum of a 1 foot wide shoulder. Excess material shall be drifted down the existing road prism away from the bridge deck. 3. Use Placement Method 3 (roller compaction) to compact the shoulders and the Traveled Way. 4. Place 4" of hot bituminous pavement including the Maricopa Edge. 5. Compaction shall be accomplished by the use of a vibratory roller of not less than six ton weight.
