- Description
- The Government intends to procure commercial item services under (FAR Part 12 and FAR 15) for VA Desert Pacific Healthcare Network (VISN 22). VISN 22 is comprised of five (5) Medical Centers, including VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System (VAGLAHS), VA Long Beach Healthcare System (VALBHS), VA Loma Linda Healthcare System (VALLHS), VA San Diego Healthcare System (VASDHS) and VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System (VASNHS). The NAICS code is 624229, Size Standard is $7 Million. Contractor(s) shall assist with the provision of housing placement and case management services through the HUD -VASH Program. Through these contracts, the VA seeks to expedite the placement of HUD-VASH Veterans and their families with HUD Section Eight Housing Choice Vouchers (HCV) in affordable, permanent housing and assist them in maintaining housing thereafter with case management services. HUD-VASH Veterans are admitted to the program based on a demonstrated need for ongoing case management due to mental health, substance abuse, medical and/or other co-occurring serious psychosocial issues. The program prioritizes Veterans assessed to be highly vulnerable with a high likelihood of death due to homelessness. The contracts shall include case management services, which are comprised of social workers, case managers, and para-professional counselors. The case management portion shall entail assisting the Veterans with retaining housing through therapeutic services, life skills education, and routine counseling sessions. The housing placement component shall be led by a housing specialist, usually a real estate broker, who is familiar with the nuances associated with HUD Section 8 housing. THIS REQUIREMENT IS NOT FOR HOUSING, BUT FOR CASE MANAGEMENT AND HOUSING PLACEMENT SERVICES. The contract(s) shall be for a base year with the Government's option to exercise four (4) one (1) year option periods. This solicitation shall be unrestricted. The solicitation will be available for issue on or about April 30, 2012 with offers due on or about May 21, 2012. UPDATE: The phone conference scheduled for May 9th has been canceled.
