- SOL-R3-12-00002 The Disposal of Mixed Radioactive Waste Procurement Office: U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) Region 3 Contracts Branch, 3PM10, 1650 Arch St., Philadelphia, PA 19103-2029 DESCRIPTION: The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Hazardous Site Cleanup Division, Region 3, Philadelphia, PA is preparing a solicitation for an upcoming unrestricted procurement for the disposal of mixed radioactive waste. The composition of the subject material includes: twenty-seven (27) B-25 boxes containing mixed radioactive waste, including Radium-226, Strontium-90, Cesium-137, and Americium-241. The material has been treated to remove RCRA characteristics including cadmium and lead. Its volume is 2,592 cubic feet of material. Presently, the material is located in Andrews, TX. The contract shall be for the transportation and disposal of the material. It is anticipated that a payment plan over three (3) years will be negotiated under the contract. The services for this project are under North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) 562211 ($12.5 million size standard, unrestricted). At this time, the Request for Proposal (RFP) is anticipated to be issued on May 15, 2012, including the Performance Work Statement, evaluation factors, and proposal submission instructions. However, all information and announcements will be posted to: fbo.gov. It is the responsibility of interested parties to regularly monitor the aforementioned website for updates to this procurement. They are also reminded that award can only be made to a Contractor registered in the Central Contractor Registration database at www.ccr.gov (see FAR Subpart 4.11 at http://www.acquisition.gov/far/index.html for more information).
