- The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intends to award on a sole-source basis a purchase order to Remington Arms Company, 870 Remington Drive, Madison, North Carolina 27025-0700 under RFQ-OSCU-0271122545. Remington Arms Company will provide commercial, "off the shelf" miscellaneous weapon parts compatible with Remington weapons currently used by the FBI. Recent market research efforts, to include consulting with fellow law enforcement agencies, resulted in the determination that the FBI's requirement for the referenced weapon parts can only be provided by the Remington Arms Company. In addition, continued use of Remington weapon parts ensures the integrity of the warranty provided by Remington at the time of weapon purchase. The sole source acquisition meets the conditions of FAR 6.302-1 and is not a request for competitive quotes; however, all interested parties who believe they can meet the requirements may submit a capability statement no later than May 8, 2012, at 2:00PM (EST) to Point of Contact Debora P. Manley, Federal Bureau of Investigation, 14800 Conference Center Drive, Suite 300, Chantilly, VA 20151 or debora.manley@ic.fbi.gov with reference to RFQ-OSCU-0271122545. Information received as a result of this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement and will be at the sole discretion of the Contracting Officer. The North American Industry Classification System code is 332994 with a small business size standard of 1,000 employees. The awardee shall be registered in the Central Contractor Registration Database at www.ccr.gov. The anticipated award date is on or before May 22, 2012. The notice will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration Federal Business (FBO) website (www.fedbizopps.gov).
