Description
Draft Solicitation This Request for Information (RFI) is for information purposes only and shall not be construed as a commitment or a promise of a contract by the Government. This is not a solicitation, Request for Quote (RFQ) or Request for Proposal (RFP), nor does it restrict the Government as to the ultimate acquisition approach. This RFI is issued as Market Research, solely for information and planning purposes. This notice shall not be considered as an obligation on the part of the government to respond, or to acquire any products or services. Any response to this synopsis will be treated as information only. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future solicitation, if issued. If a solicitation is issued, it will be synopsized on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website. The purpose of this RFI is to get comments from industry. Please review the schedule and the specifications. Contractor shall construct approximately 23 miles of livestock fence: All miles will be a 4 strand (top 3 wires barbed and the bottom wire smooth) to Forest Service Standards. Old fence and material must be removed from National Forest lands by the contractor. Project Location The project work area is located in Southern New Mexico on the Lincoln National Forest, Smokey Bear, Sacramento and Guadalupe Ranger Districts. The fences are used to contain and manage cattle distribution. Some of the ground that the fences will be built on is steep, rocky (both loose and solid above and below ground with some areas of bedrock), and some places inaccessible by 4X4 truck. Most of the fence-line will be accessible by ATV or 4x4 vehicles after the right of way is cleared. Standing dead trees exist along many portions of the fence-lines. Smokey Bear Ranger District The Smokey Bear Ranger District is located in Lincoln County, New Mexico near the Village of Ruidoso Sacramento Ranger District The Sacramento Ranger District is located in Otero County New Mexico around the Village of Cloudcroft and Mayhill. Guadalupe ranger District The Guadalupe Ranger district is located in Otero and Eddy Counties and west of Carlsbad
