- NASA/DFRC intends to establish a purchase order with Micro Systems, 35 Hill Ave.Fort Walton Beach, FL 32548 for a C-Band Transponder Test Set, model 4I-4, part numberAY03500-4, the upgraded CPU to latest available computer hardware, windows 7 operatingsystem and hardware and software to test 5W, 20W, and 50W. Micro Systems is the onlyknown source capable of providing the C-Band Transponder Test Set. Government does notintend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations maysubmit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to GailAnton at gail.t.anton@nasa.gov no later than 4:00 p.m. PDT on May 10, 2012. Suchcapabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determiningwhether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by theGovernment not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis,based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing (e-mail is preferred)nolater than May 7, 2012.Oral communications are unacceptable in response to this notice.The FAR may be obtained via the Internet at URL:http://www.acquisition.gov/far/index.html The NFS may be obtained via the InternetatURL:http://www.hq.nasa.gov/office/procurement/regs/nfstoc.htm An ombudsman has beenappointed - See NASA Specific Note 'B'
