The goal of Space Modular Common Cryptography (SMCC) is to provide integrated NSA certified encryption, command authentication, decryption, and key stream generation capabilities to DoD, commercial, and Civil Agency space platforms and associated ground terminals in support of DoD requirements through a modular architecture that is scalable, upgradeable, and re-configurable employing standard interfaces and protocols. This architecture will provide SMCC customers and satellite program integrators a range of cryptographic configurations to meet their communications security (COMSEC) requirements, to include telemetry, tracking and commanding (TT&C), mission data, and transmission security (TRANSEC). The SMCC system architecture will ensure continued access to emerging technologies and products, and prevent sole dependence on proprietary or system specific solutions through the implementation of modular design principles and the use of open systems for SMCC internal and external system interfaces. 4. Upon receipt of a PKI certificate signed e-mail to brandon.jernigan@us.af.mil or richard.roclevitch.1@us.af.mil, the SMCC RFI#2 questions the government has developed to date will be sent to interested parties. 5.
