- Solicitation plus J-Files Solicitation Number N40442-12-R-1016 is attached. Interested parties must request a copy of work items and drawings via email (valerie.taylor@navy.mil). Note: J-8 is not applicable therefore not attached. THIS IS A SYNOPSIS NOTICE ONLY. This is not a solicitation or request for proposal and no contract will be awarded from this notice. There is no solicitation, specifications or drawings available at this time. Military Sealift Command Norfolk will be issuing a 100% Small Business Set-Aside solicitation on/about 18 April 2012 for the Regular Overhaul of the USNS KANAWHA (T-AO 196) commencing on or about 08 August 2012 for fifty-five (55) days. The USNS KANAWHA (T-AO 196) has a length of 677.5 ft, a beam of 97.5ft., and a draft of 35 ft. Work is to be performed at the contractor's faciltiy. Area of consideration is the East and Gulf Coasts. Major Work Items include Shaft Brake Overhaul, Main Engine Maintenance, Lifeboat and Rescue Boat Falls/Blocks Replacement, Blast and Paint Double Bottom Ballast Tank and Blast and Paint Underwater Hull. Estimated issue date of this solicitation is on/about 18 April 2012. The Government is not obligated and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this synopsis.
