- Description
- This is a pre-solicitation notice for a contractor to provide all labor, tools, equipment, transportation, and supervision for the removal of approximately 5 miles of four-strand barbed wire fence (wires & posts) and the installation of 5 miles of new boundary fence. Government will supply fencing materials, and contractor is responsible for disposal of existing fencing materials. The newly installed boundary fence will consist of 5 miles of five (5) wire strands where the top and bottom wire will be smooth and middle three (3) wires will be barbed. Work will include use of wooden and steel posts and replacement of gates. All fence posts, wire, wire tie clips, gating, and plastic lumber (for water crossing areas) will be supplied by the government. Cut posts will require retreating on-spot during fence construction. The NAICS code is 238990. The small business standard is $14 million. IAW FAR 36.204, the estimated magnitude of the project is between $25,000 and $100,000. Contractors are urged to visit the site for a complete understanding of existing work conditions before submitting bids. The formal solicitation will provide site visit details. Award shall be made to the responsive responsible bidder with the lowest price. The solicitation with specifications, map, photos, and wage rates will be posed to the websites http://www.fedbizopps.gov and http://ideasec.nbc.gov on or about May 1, 2012.
