- Description
- The Western Montana Acquisition Zone anticipates awarding a contract for thinning for hazardous fuels reduction and stand improvement activities (approximately 70 acres) to reduce tree density, and by the delibirate selection of leave trees, improve the overall health and condition of the stand based on the contract specifications. It is anticipated that this work will be completed with conventional ground-based logging systems, with some of the felling and slashing completed by hand. Excavator piling of slash will be required. Excavator-based mastication of trees and slash will be optional A site visit to the project area will leave the Tally Lake Ranger District office at 10:00a.m. on Monday, May 10, 2012. Contact Michael West at the Tally Lake Range District, (406)758-3539, before Friday, May 4, 2012, if you wish to attend. Anticipated solicitation issue date will be April, 27, 2012. This amendment changes the date of the site visit from May 7, 2012 to May 10, 2012. The start time and location stays the same.
