- This is a notice of intent to award a sole-source follow-on contract and is not a request for competitive proposals. The statutory authority for this sole-source procurement is 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as prescribed by FAR 6.302-1. Mission Installation Contracting Command (MICC) Fort Gordon, GA intends to issue a sole source, firm fixed price award to Jeol USA Incorporated, Peabody, MA 01960, IAW FAR 6.302-1 in the amount of $14,320.00; to provide service to perform routine maintenance actions on the JMS-T100LC system (AccuTOF Mass Spectrometer) and DART100 Ionization Source. Currently, no other vendor produces a DART ionization source, or an ionization source comparable to the capabilities of the DART. Due to this fact, the Government knows of no other vendor that can adequately service all aspects of this equipment to include its timely repair or component replacement. To meet requirements of continued analysis of case samples, maintaining instrument functionality is critical. Due to a legitimate need by the customer for this specific product, this item will be procured as a sole-source award directly to Jeol USA, Inc. The period of performance must begin on 01 May 2012 through 30 April 2013. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government shall consider all responses received by Friday, 20 April 2012 at 3:00 p.m. EST. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. A determination not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bonafide capability to fulfill the requirement. MICC-Fort Gordon will not be responsible for any costs incurred by interested parties in responding to this notice.
