- THIS IS A MARKET SURVEY REQUESTING INFORMATION IN SUPPORT OF THE FOLLOWING PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENT: No contract will be awarded from this announcement. This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation. Also, it is not a request seeking contractors interested in being placed on a solicitation mailing list. Response to this questionnaire is voluntary and no reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to the market survey and any follow-on information requests. Data submitted in response to this market survey will not be returned. No solicitation document exists at this time, and calls requesting a solicitation will not be answered. The C2A1 canister is a component of mask systems that filters air to the user. Toxic liquid and solid materials are removed from the air via a high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) grade filter media and gas phase toxins are removed downstream by a bed of ASZM-TEDA activated carbon. The combination of these two filter mechanisms effectively filters out all known Chemical Biological (CB) warfare agents, toxins and radioactive fallout particles. The C2A1 canister is used on many mask systems including the M40A1, M42A2, M45, M48, MCU-2A/P, JSAM MPU-5, and JSAM MPU-6 Masks.
