Description
Notice of Intent to award sole source contract. This is not a solicitation. The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Providence, Rhode Island (Network Contracting Office 1 (New England) 650/90C) intends to negotiate and award a contract for the systematic evaluation of individual mobile patient-facing technologies (mHealth apps), as well as cohesive and ongoing assessments of aggregate data, that will shape and inform long-term goals relating to mobile health care the purpose of which is to support the mobile health (mHealth) portfolio within the eHealth Quality Enhancement Research Initiative (QUERI), a VA T21 initiative. The proposed awardee is VA affiliate University of Massachusetts, 55 Lake Ave North, Worcester, MA, 01655 (DUNS: 603847393). The deliverables and services are described as follows: software (mobile health applications) shall be evaluated with a view to discriminating such applications as are consistent with evidence-based practices ensuring patient safety, information security, and user experience. Deliverables are evaluations, white papers and reports that consist of risk-based assessments and outcomes from requested/appropriate evaluations. The contractor shall carry out a comprehensive review of the mobile Health (mHealth) program, perform aggregate analysis and deliver recommendations. The contractor shall carry out user effect studies, user tracing studies and problem impact studies. The authority for this action is FAR 6.302-5 Authorized or Required by Statute (41 USC §253(c)(5), 38 USC 8153). The proposed contractor, University of Massachusetts, Worcester is a VA affiliate This notice contains information current through FAC 2005-57. The NAICS is 541712. The PSC is AN45.
