Description
The successful contractor receiving award shall provide all labor, material equipment and supervision for the public space renewal at the Smithsonian Institutiion's National Museum of American History, 12th St. and Constitution Ave, NW,Washington, DC as shown on the drawings and in the specifications for Office of Facilities Engineering and Operations (OFEO) project number 0803109. Work shall include but not be limited to the following: 1. Demolition and of existing and new construction of interior walls, ceiling and floors, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems primarily on levels 1, 2 and 3 in the west wing, to include major work on levels 1 through 3 and lower level 4; 2. Demolition of existing windows and replacement with new on levels 2 through 4; 3. Demolition of exterior wall on level 1 to create an opening and construction ofnew windows as indicated on drawings, new windows to comply with specified blast requirements; 4. New information technology, audio visual and securtiy systems; 5. Abatement of hazardous materials, not limited to asbestos and lead based paint; 6. Installation of Distributed Antenna System (DAS) supplied by Gulf Coast Real Estate Corp. The successful contractor shall be completely qualified to perform all phases of the work as specified. Work shall be performed under a single prime contract. All work under an awarded contract shall be completed in the total contract time of 22 months. Administrative documents will be issued by the Office of Contracting and Personal Property Management (OCom/PPM). Drawings and specifications are available on compact disc and may be requested from OCon/PPM either by mail, at Smithsonian Institution, OCon/PPM, PO Box 37012, MRC 1200. Washington, DC 20013-7012, by FAX, 202-633-7308 or by email, mcgilll@si.edu. Offerorswill be evaluated on technical content and price. Criteria will be included in the solicitation documents. The successful contractor shall provide set asides for small, small disadvantaged, women owned, service connected disabled veterans and HUBZone businesses. This solicitation is open to all responsible/responsive sources and all proposals will receive consideration based evaluation by the Smithsonian Institution. Award will be made to the contractor who, in the determination of the Contracting Officer, provides the best value to the Smithsonian Institution and may not be awarded to the contractor providing the lowest overall price.
