Description
The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) will be soliciting proposals to establish and operate a Cord Blood Coordinating Center, one component of the C.W. Bill Young Cell Transplantation Program (Program). The government is seeking proposals from organizations with the capability to collaborate with cord blood banks and the Office of Patient Advocacy/Single Point of Access for the Program to identify and make available, through a single point of access, information on cord blood units suitably matched for unrelated donor transplantation. Other responsibilities include the ability to: 1) Establish a system for identifying, matching, and facilitating the distribution of donated cord blood units that are suitably matched to candidate patients. In so doing, provide standardized information describing available cord blood units to the Program's Single Point of Access; 2) Facilitate tissue typing and infectious disease marker testing of cord blood units; 3) Facilitate the collection, verification, and analyses of outcome data from unrelated cord blood transplants and make these data available in the public domain; 4) Support and expand new and existing studies and demonstration and outreach projects for the purpose of increasing cord blood unit donation and collection; and 5) Provide information to physicians, other health care professionals, and the public regarding cord blood transplants from donors as a treatment option. It is anticipated that an award resulting from this solicitation will have a period of performance of one-year base, and four one-year options. These services are defined under NAICS code 541611. It is anticipated that a Cost Sharing type contract will result from this requirement. This acquisition is being conducted under Full and Open competition. The solicitation will be posted on or about May 1, 2012. It will be available at this website as an attachment to this announcement (www.fbo.gov under HHS, Health Resources and Services Administration). It is the offeror's responsibility to monitor the site for amendments to the solicitation. The agency will consider proposals from all responsible sources. Should you have any questions contact Greg Ribovich, Contract Specialist, Phone 301-443-4175, Fax 301-443-5462, Email gribovich@hrsa.gov. Please indicate the solicitation number and title in all communications.
