- Description
- The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) will be soliciting proposals to establish and operate a Bone Marrow Coordinating Center, one component of the C.W. Bill Young Cell Transplantation Program. The government is seeking proposals from organizations with the capability to facilitate unrelated blood stem cell transplants involving volunteer potential adult donors willing to offer life-saving stem cells for transplantation for patients in need. Other responsibilities include: developing criteria, standards and procedures related to tissue typing; donor selection; proper collection and transportation of blood stem cells; establishing a system to recruit adult donors, including increasing the representation of racial and ethnic minority groups; and accounting for changes in the status of donors. It is anticipated that tan award resulting from this solicitation will have a period of performance of one-year base, and four one-year options. These services are defined under NAICS code 541611. It is anticipated that a Cost Sharing type contract will result from this requirement. This acquisition is being conducted under Full and Open competition. The solicitation will be posted on or about May 1, 2012. It will be available at this website as an attachment to this announcement (www.fbo.gov under HHS, Health Resources and Services Administration). It is the offeror's responsibility to monitor the site for amendments to the solicitation. The agency will consider proposals from all responsible sources.
