Description
Questions and Answers 1.The initial RFP, dated November 22, 2005 was a Cascade Set Aside, small business and HUB zone. The current one is unrestricted. Is there a reason for the change? Market Research deemed this requirement as such 2.Your current program is both piece priced and pound priced, as well as Rental linen and Customer Owned Goods. The RFP I am reviewing is all pound priced. The reason for the piece pricing and pound pricing in your current service is as follows: a. Piece pricing: OR items, wrappers and towels must be individually inspected over a light table to make sure they meet OR standards. OR items are supplied by the Contractor. They are piece priced due to the required inspection. Can these remain piece priced? b. Customer Owned Goods: Pajama tops and bottoms are purchased and owned by the VA. We process them at a reduced piece price, fold and return them. Will these continue to be COG items and piece priced? Please price based on per clean pound. Reason being, we are contemplating awarding an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract as the poundage will vary greatly throughout the contract. We are focused more technical subfactors/approach than pricing and/or separate CLINs. In addition, the initial RFP was listed with a price schedule per pound as such as this is 3.On page 24, reference is made to a Pre-Award Survey. Does this take place after the RFP due date of April 20th? After the RFP due date, if necessary 4.On page 29, #3 Technical Subfactor C- Physical Facility, will photographs be allowed to show the compliance of the different areas of our plant? Photographs of the plant are not required at the RFP closing. Per technical subfactor C (pg. 28), offerors shall provide a detailed description of their physical facility. If necessary, the Government will inspect the offeror's facility. If conducted, only the most highly rated proposals will undergo a facility inspection.
