- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. No solicitation will be issued at this time. This synopsis is issued for the sole purpose of AFISRA/A7KR Contracting to conduct Market Research in accordance with FAR part 10. This effort is to seek qualified sources capable of providing the services listed below. This Sources Sought announcement market survey is for information only, to be used for preliminary planning purposes. No proposals are being requested or accepted with this synopsis The contractor will Create reactor design model of a candidate fast breeder reactor and one fuel loading profile. The reactor shall be modeled in MCNP and divided into representative zones and burnup calculated using MONTEBURNS for those zones. Proposed zoning will be pre-coordinated with the requestor. Isotopic values in atom-percent and grams per rod for fuel and selected fission products shall be provided for each burnup step and zone (including uncertainty estimations for burnup step size and zone selection). The Government will not otherwise pay for any costs associated with providing information in response to this synopsis or any follow-up information requests. Applicable NAICS is 541712 size 500 employees. Interested firms are requested to submit capability statements (maximum of three pages, not including the cover page). The interest and capability statements should include firms that are small businesses (in accordance with 19.502-2 Total Small Business Set-Aside under the SAT threshold). The capability statements should show evidence of relevant experience in the products described above and at a minimum include the following information: (1) company name, point of contact, email address, telephone number and type of business and size, and (2) brief description of any relevant contracts (commercial of government), contract numbers, contract dollar values, and dates of performance. Respondents are also encouraged to submit information regarding commercial practices that the government should consider implementing for this acquisition. All potential offerors are reminded that in accordance with FAR 52.204-7, Central Contractor Registration (CCR), lack of registration in the CCR will make the offeror ineligible for contract award.
