- This is a pre-solicitation notice for Medical Implant Tracking System in accordance with FAR Part 5. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Birmingham Veteran Affairs Medical Center (BVAMC), 700 S. 19th Street, Birmingham, AL 35233, is seeking sources for a potential contract to provide a tracking system that will efficiently and accurately track all biological and non-biological implantable items in patients of the BVAMC. This is a notice that a solicitation will be posted for the Medical Implant Tracking System for a base period and four options. The Solicitation (Request for Quotes) will be posted on 16 April 2012 via www.fbo.gov under VA-247-12-Q-0342. Requirements for the base period includes: On-site implementation of the above described system. Implementation shall include, but is not limited to: implementing the above described system, training of end users and physical inventory of biologic implants. It is estimated there will be 2-3 working days of system implementation and training. It is estimated there will be 4 working days of physical inventory. Anticipated award date is 1 May 2012.
