Description
P621 Embassy Security Group Facilities Quantico, VA: The project consists of design and construction of a new headquarters building, separate warehouse, and Compound Access Control (CAC) buildings for the Marine Corps Embassy Security Guard (MCESG) at Marine Corps Base Quantico. MCESG headquarters building will serve a dual function; both as the administrative arm of the MCESG and as a mock embassy at which Marine trainees will practice embassy security operations. The facility will also include a separate warehouse operations building. The new facilities will conform to Marine Corps Quantico Base planning standards “ Base Exterior Architectural Plan (BEAP). The new facilities are expected to be 36,899 SF (not to exceed) distributed over multiple stories and buildings with brick face and cast stone detailing. The facility will contain administrative, training, armory space, covered cleaning, two separate CAC buildings, and separate warehouse. Slab on grade, structural steel frame, concrete masonry unit and GWB interior walls, Georgian-styled cast stone and brick veneer, low slope roof at the main facility and standing seam metal roof at the warehouse, and lighting protection. A built up roofing system along with elevators, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection system, loading dock, security lighting, site utilities, fencing for the campus, compound access control measures (barriers and guard house), paving and site improvements are also planned. The built-in equipment for this project shall include an intrusion detection system, specialized Department of State (DOS) equipment and security systems, lightning protection, and a dock leveler system at the loading dock. The Facility will be LEED SILVER rating certified (minimum) and comply with EPACT 2005- including 30% energy reduction below ASHRAE 90.1 Guidelines. Upgrades to an existing force main (approximately 3 miles) and replacement of two (2) pump stations are also required as part of the project scope.
