Description
This is a Sources Sought Notice and is for information purposes only. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS, QUOTATIONS, OR BIDS. NO SOLICITATION IS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. A Market Survey is being conducted to determine if there are adequate Small Businesses, HUBZone, 8(a), Women-Owned Small Business, or Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business contractors for the following proposed contract: The contract work includes the demolition of the Walson Hospital Complex, located at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (JB MDL), New Jersey and incidental related work. The hospital complex scheduled to be demolished under this contract consists of the Main Hospital building; Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Plant building; Boiler Plant building; and demolition and removal of associated parking lots, curbing, and walkways. The hospital consists of two main nine-story wings which are attached at right angles to a central eleven-story elevator wing, with additional one to four-story wings, annexes, and attached facilities radiating out from the central core and main wings, totaling approximately 384,100 square feet. The Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Plant is approximately 2,170 square feet and contains two chiller units, an exterior cooling tower, and associated exterior and interior piping to support the hospital cooling system. The Boiler Plant is approximately 5,693 square feet. There are about 400 parking spaces associated with the complex. The work consists of, but is not limited to: clearing and grubbing; demolition of buildings, foundations, utility lines, pavement, curbs, parking lots, and sidewalks; removal of demolition debris; removal of the concrete foundations and slabs; excavation and backfill; hauling, disposal; relocation of the water distribution and sanitary sewer lines. The buildings and foundations shall be completely removed and the area backfilled and compacted as specified, and graded as shown on the plans. Following demolition, the site shall be landscaped with topsoil and planted with grass seed. The square footages indicated above for the buildings are approximate and subject to verification by the Contractor. Award of a firm fixed price contract is anticipated in September 2012. Contract duration is approximately 18 months and estimated cost range is between $25,000,000 and $100,000,000. Performance and Payment bonds will be required for 100% of contract award. NAICS for this project is 238910 and the size standard is $14.0 million. Responses to this sources sought announcement will be used by the government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. All interested Small Business, HUBZone, 8(a), Women-Owned Small Businesses, or Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business contractors should submit a narrative demonstrating their experience in similar scope, complexity and value. Capability statements should include size/classification of your firm, bonding capacity (single project and aggregate), details of similar projects (scope, complexity and value), completion dates, references and contract amount.
