AMENDMENT NOTICE:This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice.The solicitation number is N00244-12-T-0154 and is issued as an invitation for bids (IFB), unless otherwise indicated herein.The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular FAC 2005-57. The associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 337215 with a small business size standard of 500.00 employees.This requirement is a [ Small Business ] set-aside and only qualified offerors may submit bids.The solicitation pricing on www.FedBid.com will start on the date this solicitation is posted and will end on 2012-04-12 15:00:00.0 Eastern Time or as otherwise displayed at www.FedBid.com.FOB Destination shall be SAN DIEGO, CA 92155 The FLC - San Diego requires the following items, Meet or Exceed, to the following: LI 001, GEAR STORAGE LOCKERS MINIMUM GOVERNMENT SPECIFICATIONS OR CHARACTERISTICS: COLOR-BLACK,MATERIAL-STEEL,48"W X 48" Dx 90"H,REINFORCE WIRE TOP PANEL,13 GAUGE EXPANDED METAL STEEL MESS WITH 1 1-2 OPENINGS,ALL BOLTED CONSTRUCTION,2" X 2" X 1/8" ANGLE FRAME,(1) 48" WIDE X 90" TALL SWING DOOR WITH PADLOCK HASP,(3) 3" X 3" PIN BUTT HINGES,(3) EVENLY SPACED SHELVES,(1) HANGER ROD,SHEET METAL BACK PANEL,BLACK POWER PAINT COAT FINISH,ON-SITE ASSEMBLY or Pre-assembled units, BUY AMERICAN, LEED CERTIFIED. Questions & Answers pertaning to the requirement: Q: Is there a fork lift available to unload the shipment when it arrives in San Diego? Is there a staging area to do the assembly and how close is it to the installed location? A:There's a forklift available and we have a bay with more than enough space for the assembly. The assembly area will be no more than 50feet from where the lockers will ultimately sit. Q: I had a couple of question about the placement of the lockers. Are the lockers going to be side by side, back to back or individually placed? Are the lockers going to be placed on the ground floor? A:The lockers will be side by and back to back. The lockers will be placed on wooden pallets to make it easier for future movement. Q: does the customer want an expanded metal locker and door with a wire top or do they want wire panel, sides, top and door with expanded metal shelves? Also if we need 3 evenly spaced shelves are they on one-half of the locker and the other side left open so equipment can hang on the opposite side?A: The sides of the locker need to be wire panels same as the top; this is to prevent the theft of material in it. There are 3 spaced shelves on the right side of the lockers so that personnel can put the smaller items while the left side is open for the exception of the rod to use to hang uniforms etc. Q: Can pre-assembled units be included?A: The units can be pre-assembled and we will take care of moving them around the building. Q: Is it possible to post a drawing of the type of locker/cabinet requested? A: See attachment Q: The sketch provided does not show a bottom for the lockers. Is a bottom required or is it open? Wire comes in welded and/or woven. Does the customer have a preference? A: Bottom is required. The wire should be welded. Q: If the units are shipped assembled are there any other requirements? A: As long as they are protected against damage when they are shipped there is nothing else of concern., 30, EA; LI 002, ON SITE ASSEMBLY, 30, EA; Solicitation and Buy Attachments ***Question Submission: Interested offerors must submit any questions concerning the solicitation at the earliest time possible to enable the Buyer to respond. Questions not received within a reasonable time prior to close of the solicitation may not be considered.*** For this solicitation, FLC - San Diego intends to conduct an online competitive reverse auction to be facilitated by the third-party reverse auction provider, FedBid, Inc. FedBid has developed an online, anonymous, browser based application to conduct the reverse auction. An Offeror may submit a series of pricing bids, which descend in price during the specified period of time for the aforementioned reverse auction. FLC - San Diego is taking this action in an effort to improve both vendor access and awareness of requests and the agency's ability to gather multiple, competed, real-time bids.All responsible Offerors that respond to this solicitation MUST submit the pricing portion of their bid using the online exchange located at www.FedBid.com.
