- The Arizona National Guard seeks proposals from interested vendors to assume control over the dining hall operations at the Western ARNG Aviation Training Site (WAATS), in Marana, Arizona. The anticipated date to begin performance will be October 1, 2012, for a base period of two (2) years, with an additional three (3) one-year option periods to follow. The WAATS is a relatively remote helicopter pilot and ground support military training facility. Meal service is necessary to support students who temporarily reside at WAATS, along with all staff and permanently assigned maintenance personnel. The contractor will use Government provided kitchen and serving facilities, serving breakfast/lunch/dinner meals on a daily basis (typically excluding holidays). Tasks will include, but not limited to: dining facility management; cooking; food purchases and preparation; serving and replenishing service line; cleaning facilities; maintaining food service property; preparing vegetables and fruits for salad bar; bussing tables; cashier/head-count services; handling foods/supplies/property; and maintaining quality control. In addition to on-site meal services, the contractor may be required to prepare meals for military units training at off-site locations. The historical meal count for FY11 was 37,500, with an anticipated annual growth of 10% over the course of the contract. The anticipated annual cost for this acquisition is $300,000 for the initial period. The anticipated solicitation posting date will be on or about May 15, 2012, with a projected award date of no later than mid-September 2012. Closing date for the solicitation will be thirty (30) days after issuance. This acquisition is subject to the Randolph-Sheppard Act, under US Code, which requires a priority in the award to the appropriate State Licensing Authority. The solicitation will be posted on FedBizOpps, which should be monitored by interested parties. No individual notice of posting will be provided.
