Description
Soldier Monitoring System This sources sought notice is issued seeking contractors/vendors who can provide a Soldier Monitoring System (SMS) for use during land navigation training. The purpose of the system is to provide a persistent tracking mechanism of the Soldier's location and also to provide the Soldier with the means of requesting support during a land navigation training exercise when a critical event affecting the safety of the soldier has occurred. At a minimum, the Soldier wireless device (SWD) shall be capable of alerting the Common Operating Picture (COP) when: A Soldier is injured and a distress signal is initiated (Emergency Alert). A Soldier fails to move a specific distance in a specified period of time (No Motion Alert). A Soldier moves outside of the/a predetermined training area (Boundary alert). The SMS shall be compact, rugged, user friendly, shall not inhibit movement, and shall have little impact to the overall Soldier load. The United States Military Academy (USMA) Cadre shall be able to set up, operate, and maintain the tracking system without outside assistance. Personnel assigned to USMA must be able to operate the Soldier Tracking System with minimal infrastructure and technical support. The system shall provide Cadre the needed capability and tools to supervise each individual Soldier's progress and provide necessary information to rescue and assist the soldier as required. Contact Bob Pizzano to receive the specifications in their entirety which is quite lenghty. This is not a solicitation, but a request for information.
