Description
NASA Johnson Space Center (NASA/JSC) plans to conduct a Safety and MissionAssurance Engineering Contract (SMAEC) Industry Day. NASA/JSC is hereby soliciting firmsto attend this event on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at the NASA/JSC Gilruth Recreation Center.The presentation to industry will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the AlamoBallroom. One-on-one meetings will be scheduled from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday,May 1st and from 10:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 2. The SMAEC will support the Safety and Mission Assurance (S&MA) Directorate in providingprogrammatic support to the International Space Station (ISS), Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle(MPCV), Extravehicular Project Office (EVA), Advanced Exploration Systems Office (AES),and any future programs and projects performed by the Johnson Space Center. This supportwill require all of the skills associated with the disciplines of safety, reliability,availability, maintainability, supportability, quality engineering, quality assurance,software assurance, risk management, and technology assurance.The current Safety and Mission Assurance Support Services Contract SOW is provided on theSMAEC website at http://procurement.jsc.nasa.gov/smaec/. An online technicallibrary for the SMAEC procurement is also available via the SMAEC website. It is thepotential offerors responsibility to monitor the website for updates to the technicallibrary. GOALS: The goals of Industry Day are to: 1. Provide information on the current Safety and Mission Assurance Support ServicesContract (SMASSC). 2. Promote competition on the proposed new SMAEC acquisition. 3. Share the Governments current vision for the S&MA Directorate. 4. Allow NASA/JSC to better utilize industry input to improve the future Request forProposal (RFP). Industry Day is open to all firms that are interested in pursuingcontracting/subcontracting opportunities on the SMAEC procurement whether they haveperformed work at JSC or not. All interested parties are encouraged to attend. No photographic or recording devices are permitted during the Industry Day presentationor one-on-one communication sessions. A 45 minute open Question and Answer Session will follow the Industry Day presentation. Official answers will be posted to the SMAEC website after the Industry Day.ONE-ON-ONE SESSIONS: To facilitate interactive communications with industry, NASA personnel will also beavailable for private meetings with individual companies in conjunction with IndustryDay. The purpose of these meetings is to provide industry with the opportunity to betterunderstand the existing requirements under the Safety and Mission Assurance SupportServices Contract (SMASSC) and to allow industry an opportunity to provide input on thequestions asked in the posted Request for Information (RFI) Synopsis. In addition, theGovernment may ask for additional clarification on written responses to these questions.The meetings are intended to be question and answer sessions in which neither side willbe making a formal presentation. Any company may request a one-on-one meeting. Meetings will not exceed 20 minutes inlength and attendance is limited to two persons. Scheduling of appointment times will beon a first-come, first-serve basis. Appointments will be scheduled every 30 minutesbetween 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on May 1, 2012 and 10:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on May 2, 2012. Guidance for conduct during the One-on-One communications is attached to this posting asAttachment 1: One-on-One Communications with Industry Guidance. SIGN-UP REQUIREMENTS: To make reservations for the SMAEC Industry day and one-on-one sessions, please contactChristina Hibbs at Christina.A.Hibbs@nasa.gov. The request shall include the following information: i. Subject line: 'SMAEC Industry Day RSVP' ii. Companys name and address. iii. The companys Point of Contacts (POC) names, telephone numbers, and e-mailaddresses. iv. The e-mail RSVP must explicitly state each of the companys attendees names andtitles of attendees (limited to two) from your company that intend to attend theone-on-one breakout sessions. Any special time requests, with justification will only beaccommodated as practicable. E-mail reservations must be received no later than 4:00 p.m. CDT on Tuesday, April 24,2012. A confirmation email will be sent to acknowledge your reservation. Companies will be notified on or before Friday, April 30, 2012 of their assigned meetingtime. (Should the number of firms requesting meetings exceed the times available on May 1and 2, other meeting times will be arranged as soon as is practicable). DIRECTIONS TO THE GILRUTH CENTER: Heading South on I-45, turn Left on Bay Area Boulevard (East). Proceed approximately 3miles on Bay Area Boulevard, and then turn Right on Space Center Boulevard. Proceedapproximately 2 miles on Space Center Boulevard through two stop lights. Turn Right tothe Johnson Space Center Gilruth Center. Proceed to the Gilruth Building parking lot.Enter through the Gilruth Center's front entry, and the Alamo Ballroom will be on yourleft. INTERESTED PARTIES LIST:The SMAEC Interested Parties List has been updated on the SMAEC website. JSC FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT WEBSITE:A link to the JSC Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Website has been added to the SMAECwebsite. This website includes a copy of the Safety and Mission Assurance SupportServices Contract (SMASSC) as of January 2011.A current copy of the SMASSC will beposted to the SMAEC website at a later date.No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation or submit aproposal. If a solicitation is released it will be synopsized in Federal BusinessOpportunities Website and on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service. It is the potentialofferors responsibility to monitor these sites for the release of any solicitation orsynopsis.
