Description
SUBJECT: Brand Name justification for the Navigation Laboratories, Inc. LabMate 14 Channel L1 C/A Code GPS Simulator with LCD monitor. This brand name justification supports an acquisition of a GPS constellation simulator - the Navigation Laboratories, Inc. LabMate 14 channel L1 C/A code GPS simulator. The configuration includes an LCD monitor, software, and corresponding accessories. The software to be included is a Windows operating system and all software for operation of the GPS simulator boards that are installed inside the PC. The associated accessories include a USB mouse, a backup hard drive, a keyboard, and standard 115 volt power cables for the monitor and GPS simulator. The GPS simulator is proprietary to GPS Creations, the only known distributor for the Navigation Laboratories, Inc. LabMate 14 channel L1 C/A code GPS simulator. DMEA is replicating the GPS test platform of a specific customer with the purchase of the specific brand and equipment described above, but the equipment will be exercised for various projects to build field scenarios. Market research was conducted and several vendors were found with different platforms. However, to reproduce the test plans and built scenarios for 2 current projects in a different platform will cost an estimated $36,800 based on 320 engineering hours at $115 per hour. By replicating the GPS test platform of the customer, test plans and built scenarios provided by the customer can be utilized while saving costs and maintaining the integrity of the test plans and built scenarios. The following vendor is the only source who can satisfy the Government's requirement for equipment described above: GPS Creations, P.O. Box 381272, Germantown, TN 38183.
