- The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System intends to negotiate on a Sole Source basis with Intuitive Surgical, Inc., 950 Kiper Road, Sunnyvale, CA 94086, to purchase from them the following Robotic Supplies for use with the VA's existing Intuitive Surgical Davinci Robot Equipment: Large Needle Drive; Monopolar Curved Sciccors;Disposable Accessory Kits (3-Arm and 4-Arm); and Top Cover Accessory), for the VA's University Drive Division. It is essential to the Government's needs that it purchases the above Intuitive Surgical, Inc. brand robotic supplies, since they are needed for an existing Intuitive Surgical, Inc., Davinci Robotic Machine, since no other company makes similar robotic instruments that can be connected to this Surgical Robot Machine. Intuitive Surgical, Inc. is the sole seller of their equipment and instruments. This Notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Parties may identify their interest; accompanied by supporting literature, to the Contracting Officer no later than 4/9/2012 COB. Responses should be sent to ronald.mazzei@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. Information received will be for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. The determination to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. The NAICS Code for this procurement is 339112, and the Small Business Size Standard is 500 employees.
